To be eligible for a Seafish Individual Training Support Grant you must be a
new entrant to the offshore commercial fishing industry or actually seeking work
in the offshore commercial fishing sector. This form is for the offshore sector
only.
Please provide all the information requested. Failure to do
so
will result in your application being delayed.

5. Courses you require -:
We have entered the courses you are required to do for you below. New Entrants
to the commercial fishing industry are required by law to complete a Health and
Safety and Sea Survival course BEFORE they start employment onboard a vessel.
After 3 months have elapsed from the completion of these courses, New Entrants
are required by law to undertake a Fire Fighting and First Aid course specific
to the industry. Your grant authorisation number, when issued by the Seafish
Authority will expire after six months from date of issue. Courses attended
after this six month point will not be subject to grant aid.
New
Entrants using this form will be required to place a £200.00 non-refundable
deposit with the Western Training Association. Make sure you read the frequently

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their
application. Successful applicants will be provided with a unique approval
number, which must be given to the training provider when booking on to a
training course. |
